Portrait Photography Exhibition

The people and businesses at the heart of Buxton’s town centre are celebrated in an exhibition of newly commissioned portrait photography. From shopkeepers to stylists and from the town crier to the High Sheriff of Derbyshire, all have been photographed by top portrait photographers hailing from across the region.

Ashley Bird commissioned the photography and curated the exhibition:

“It’s been great scouring the area for the best photographers to create this exhibition – each has their own style, and each has captured something unique about the people and businesses they have photographed. The results range from simply beautiful to slightly odd (in a very Buxton way) and some are quite surprising!”

 

The exhibition was first displayed in The Pump Room in April 2022. It continues to delight as a pop-up presentation at various Buxton events.
